So, it’s Friday night, it’s Halloween season and you want to watch a horror film. But which one? Well, thank the maker I am here to recommend Slither. My recommendation alone should be enough to convince you this an awesome film, however, to fill space on this post here are some details that should further entice you.
Slither is a 2006 horror film written and directed by James Gunn, yeah the same James Gunn that wrote and directed Guardians of the Galaxy. The film stars Elizabeth Banks and Nathan Fillion and the story centers on a small town that becomes infested with parasites from outer space. The parasites seek out hosts in an attempt to feed their hive mind. The film is full of monsters, gore, laughs, and is a great update on the (usually) overplayed zombie idea. Nathan Fillion plays police chief Bill Pardy and has the best line ever delivered in a horror film.
So instead of seeing Guardians of the Galaxy again, stay in, find a loved one, and watch Slither. You’ll be happy you did.
*** odd ball Batman fact: James Gunn wrote the script for the remake to Dawn of the Dead, which was directed by Zack Synder. Synder’s next film is Batman Vs Superman. Mind blowing, right?
